Karen Stegman, Grant Specialist
Karen Stegman is a mission-driven leader with more than 25 years of experience in non-profit strategy, community development, and resource mobilization. Karen brings a proven record of designing programs and securing funding for large-scale public health, education, social services, and environmental initiatives, forging strategic partnerships, and managing multi-million-dollar donor portfolios. An experienced communicator and negotiator, she has deep expertise spanning federal agencies, foundations, multilaterals, corporate partners, and grassroots organizations. Skilled in external affairs, stakeholder relations, strengthening internal systems and managing teams, Karen is passionate about advancing equity, elevating community voices, and aligning resources with mission impact. For the past eight years, she also served on the Chapel Hill Town Council, where affordable housing was one of her top priorities.
As a consultant, Karen partners with clients to forge partnerships, secure funding, strengthen systems, and increase impact.
Karen holds an MAT in English Education from Boston University and a BA in Comparative Literature from UNC-Chapel Hill.
